Alcohol Focus Scotland is Scotland’s national charity working to reduce the harm caused by alcohol.Our long term aim is a reduction in alcohol harm to individuals, families, communities and Scotland as a whole, through the implementation of effective alcohol control policies and legislation.
Alcohol is more affordable, more available and more heavily marketed than at any time over the past thirty years. At the same time, our alcohol consumption has doubled and we have seen record levels of alcohol harm. The number of people dying from liver cirrhosis has increased by 450% across the population.
Alcohol Focus Scotland believes that we all need to drink less. We want to see fewer people having their lives cut short due to alcohol; fewer children and families suffering as result of other people’s drinking and our towns and communities free from alcohol-fuelled crime and violence.
