GINA launches Alcohol and ageing report

27/10/2009

Alcohol Focus Scotland's Gender Issues Network on Alcohol (GINA) project will tomorrow launch "Alcohol & Ageing:The Views of Older Women and Carers".

The research looks at the impact of the changing relationship for older women around alcohol consumption and contains recommendations which promote positive choices for living healthily and more independently for as long as possible.

The report will be formally launched at an event in Glasgow's Teacher building by Professor Moira Plant, chair of GINA and one of the UK's foremost experts on women and alcohol issues.

Attendees will discuss the issues and recommendations contained in the report with members of the research team including Alcohol Focus Scotland, the Princess Royal Trust for Carers, Scottish Pensioners Forum and Age Concern and Help the Aged Scotland.

The full report and Executive Summary will be available to download here shortly.
