ServeWise Trainers

ServeWise Trainers' course and Qualification

This is for people who wish to deliver training to meet the requirements of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005. It offers the opportunity to become a licensed ServeWise Trainer to deliver ServeWise courses.

Entrance requirements are relevant experience in at least two of the areas covered on the Trainers' course - trainer skills, licensing legislation, associated legislation, alcohol and people skills.

• 3 day course with pre and post-course study
• Delivered by selected licensed ServeWise Trainers
• Part 1 assessment - multiple choice exam completed at the end of day 3
• Part 2 assessment - observation of training delivery to be completed within 2 years of passing part 1
• Awarded by Alcohol Focus Scotland and accredited by SQA Accrediting Body
• Candidates receive fully developed ServeWise courses for personal licence holders and staff and comprehensive Trainer's manuals.
• Alcohol Focus Scotland provides ongoing support and advice for all Trainers.
• Licensed ServeWise Trainers must undertake annual Continuous Professional Development and pay a small annual fee.
