A Scottish council has taken unprecedented action to ban a store from selling alcohol for one month after it was caught supplying drink to an under-age youngster.

The test purchase operation was launched by police after intelligence suggested alcohol was being sourced by underage youths in the area.
The board was also told how the store had been caught twice before in test purchase operations in the past five years, and received a fiscal’s letter after police charged two staff with allegedly selling alcohol more than two hours before their licence allowed.
The licensing report also identified that there were incomplete training records for staff, and that the summary of the premises licence was not on display.
The board suspended Linnvale Stores’ licence for one month and will then limit its licence from 10pm to 8pm
