Alcohol seminar series

Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP) and the Scottish Alcohol Research Network (SARN) organise the lunchtime 'Alcohol Occasional' seminar series. These showcase innovative research on alcohol use and provide the chance for researchers, practitioners and policy makers and members of the public to hear and discuss alcohol related topics, over lunch in the historic Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.

  • February 20: The relationship to alcohol through the lifespan in a Scottish island community
  • March 26: Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders / FASD: everybody’s business
  • April 30: Minimum Unit Pricing in Scotland: A qualitative study of children and young people’s own drinking and related behaviour
  • May 21: ‘A couple of nights a week I might have a couple of bottles of ale’: the normalisation of alcohol consumption by older drinkers
