Leave our kids alone! How to protect children from alcohol and junk food marketing

Alcohol Focus Scotland and Obesity Action Scotland are delighted to invite stakeholders to an event exploring how we can protect children from marketing of alcohol and junk food.  This will be held in the Melting Pot, Rose Street, Edinburgh, pn 14th March 2.30pm - 4pm.

We will be joined by two excellent speakers:

Maria Piacentini, Professor of Consumer Research at Lancaster University, who will focus on the marketing of alcohol to young people, and explore how this exposure influences children and young people’s attitudes and behaviours in relation to alcohol; and

Dan Parker, Living Loud, whose shocking and entertaining presentation - drawing on his 20 years working in marketing and advertising of junk food and fizzy drinks - will demonstrate a few of the advertising techniques used to create an obesogenic environment and ask what we can do to stop it.  There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.

This event is free and refreshments will be provided. If you are able to attend please register on Eventbrite
