Alcohol affects everyone in Scotland

This Alcohol Action Day, help us make sure everyone gets the support they need.

Fifty people die each week from alcohol-related diseases, with half of Scots affected by someone else's drinking. But it doesn't have to be this way. Alcohol harm is preventable. We're calling for action so everyone affected by alcohol can get the support they need.

We're calling on the Scottish Government to assess Scotland's alcohol treatment services, making sure that support services are:

  • fit for purpose
  • properly resourced
  • accessible to everyone.

I'm calling on the Scottish Government to carry out a national needs assessment of alcohol treatment services, so everyone can get the support they need.
